The Further Steps Series of 6 courses continues the journey into the inner landscape of meditation — a progression of practices that refine perception and awaken new dimensions of subtle awareness. Building upon the foundations established in the First Steps program, these teachings reveal how energy moves through the subtle body and how consciousness itself can be guided into stillness.

Each course explores a specific domain of inner experience — from the pathways of ida and pingala, to the radiant current of the sushumna, to the living presence of the Inner Guru. Together they form the bridge between learning to meditate and mastering the inner art of transformation.

    Mastering The Madhya

    – Course 1 in the Further Steps Series –

    Finding the still point in the middle and learning the techniques for Expansion.

    Dhyana and the Right Hemisphere

    – Course 2 in the Further Steps Series –

    Most people think of ‘emptiness’ as a concept, but we’ll explore the pragmatic aspects of it and learn how and where to tap into it, because it is actually one of the secret power tools in the toolbelt of an advanced meditator.

    Ida and Pingala

    – Course 3 in the Further Steps Series –

    The ida and pingala are two of the most significant circuits of energy (‘nadi’) in the subtle body, and they are also fairly easy to access.

    In this course you’ll begin developing the ability to move energy in the ida and pingala at will. This in turn gives us a foundation to begin opening up more of the subtle body.

    Moving Into Sushumna

    – Course 4 in the Further Steps Series –

    The sushumna is the central ‘nerve’ of the subtle energy body. The length of the sushumna is actually the spiritual path itself, because this is where all the heavy-lifting work of spiritual unfoldment begins and ends.

    Your work with the sushumna will go on throughout every phase of your spiritual endeavors; this course gives you the launching point to begin this great work.

    The Bodhicitta

    – Course 5 in the Further Steps Series –

    Many people know bodhicitta as a concept: the concept of the awakened heart-mind, of the aspiration for enlightenment, of the wish for all sentient beings to awaken.

    But there is more to the bodhicitta: there are drops or points within the subtle energy body that are actual corollaries of the bodhicitta.

    Finding and working with these points greatly accelerates our own awakening and the purification of all karma that stands in our way.

    Inner Guru Yoga

    – Course 6 in the Further Steps Series –

    Whether or not you have someone you look to as an outer guru, it is always the inner guru that does the real work of awakening.

    Guru yoga practices are a way of attuning to that inner presence — a means of accelerating spiritual growth in profoundly transformative & mysterious ways.
