FAQs About Meditation

These questions cover the basics of meditation and how to get started. Learn how often to meditate, what kind of meditation this is, and whether you need prior experience or specific beliefs to benefit.

  • Yes. Many students come to us after feeling stuck with other methods. Our approach is clear, structured, and designed to overcome common roadblocks. You’ll get personal guidance so your practice actually works and leads to lasting results.

  • Yes — my Quick Start program is uniquely designed to help you begin a meditation practice that actually gets you somewhere. You’ll find it’s easier than you thought.

And my Beginners Program is different: it gradually and systematically prepares you to move beyond the basics into the deeper work of stopping the mind, taught in my intermediate and advanced programs.

  • You can start with just 20-30 minutes, once or twice daily. Over time, your practice can grow naturally as your mind becomes quieter and more at ease.

The goal is consistency, not forcing long sessions. Once you learn our techniques, you’ll find it easy to sit for 45-60 minutes at a time - and that’s when things really get cooking.

  • No. If you’ve never meditated before, start with the Quick Start program. It’s self-paced and easy to follow.

As your experience deepens, you’ll be ready to work with me in the group structure or through the private mentorships.

  • Not really. Depending on your previous work with meditation, there may be elements to mindfulness meditation or mantra meditation I may suggest you use for a brief time.

But I’ve found these techniques quickly plateau. They ultimately lead to a stagnation and they definitely don’t let the mind get quiet enough to STOP.

  • Yes, my meditation program will do that for you along the way, but meditation offers so much more! Those are excellent ‘side-effects’ along the way towards developing awareness of our true essential nature.

  • No, not at all. In fact, having no belief structure in place is even better in this regard, because then you turn directly to your own direct experience - and that’s really what meditation is all about.

You won’t be asked to believe anything. You’ll be asked to try things and see what your experience is like.

FAQs About Stopping The Mind

Here we explore what it really means to “stop the mind,” why it matters, and how it’s possible. These answers dive into the philosophy and practice behind deep, sustained inner stillness.

  • Stopping the Mind is considered the holy grail of meditation techniques. It means reaching deep inner stillness — not just calming thoughts but completely quieting the mind. This leads to clarity, freedom, and lasting peace.

  • Yes, absolutely! And not just for a brief moment of transcendence or quiet. With the right techniques you can experience longer and longer periods where the mind can be brought into a state of utter Peace and Absolute Tranquility.

  • Don’t believe it is? I do, because now I can. I studied with a true Master of meditation who taught me the techniques to achieve this. He taught that it was mandatory to stop the mind if you wanted to make progress in spiritual development. I can teach you too.

  • Today many teachers are suggesting this can’t be done. But stopping the mind is only achieved through a series of progressive understandings and experiences in meditation.

It comes through perseverance, and only with the correct approach.

Most teachers offer “effortless” approaches to meditation because they are easy to teach, not because they work better.

  • Yes, true Awakening, also called Enlightenment or Self-Realization, can only come in the wake of stopping the mind. Don’t let anyone tell you differently.

In fact, this is exactly what the great sage Patanjali says; Yogas Chittah Vritti Nirodah, meaning True yoga is the extinguishing of thought waves. The Yoga Sutras actually start with this profound statement, showing its importance.

  • Yes! Many students report that the sense of inner fulfillment and calm that comes with stopping the mind is profound, and new to them - unlike anything they have experienced before.
